Images of Battlefield’s 3 Battlelog revealed
Images of Battlefield 3's Battlelog have been revealed by EA and Dice. Designed as an in-game interface and social networking tool, Battlelog is based on the popular and successful Autolog featured first included in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Originally the images were posted in EA's Battleblog, however they were quickly taken down, although not before Battlefield fan-site, Battlefieldo had managed to grab hold of the images.
As the pictures illustrate it features an extremely Facebook-esque interface, right down to the ability to post status updates, message others and comment and like on various posts. It even incorporates an inbuilt chat feature which appears to be not too dissimilar from Facebook or Steam. However Battlelog isn't just a place to collate your Battlefield related whimsical comments, your feed appears to also inform your friends of your current rank in the game as well as any achievements or rewards you have unlocked.
Let's just hope Battlelog will contain less whiney or self-obsessed status updates like we're used to seeing on Facebook. And if they do, at least we can virtually shoot them in the shins.
Battlefield 3 is released on October 25th in North America and October 28th in Europe.
