F1 2011 Will Feature Safety Car
In an interview a few weeks back, we asked Paul Jeal if there would be a safety car in F1 2011. He said maybe.
Now it seems, there is! The official F1 Game twitter from Codemasters has confirmed that there will be a safety car in F1 2011. The deal is that the rather lush AMG Mercedes safety car will come onto the track in case of a incident that endangers the rest of the drivers on the track. This will be on any race that is over 20% distance and can be turned off if you don't want it. You won't be able to drive it unfortunately, but it will also be available online and nothing will change in the game cinematic. So you get the same camera mode. Presumably a similar system to the pit lane limiter will be deployed to keep you from being silly and overtaking everyone.
Here is a lovely picture of Codemaster's Steve Hood pointing at the car in question. Just so you know that it's real.
