Deep Silver is making sure Dead Island can stand up to it's blockbuster rivals during it's release, by throwing vast amounts of money into it's ad campaigns and awareness.

The publishing arm of Koch Media has invested it's largest ever global marketing spend on Dead Island with 20 second TV ads being playing a major role in the UK's promotional campaign. The ads will run through September on all channels owned by ITV, Channel 4 and Five. Sky Pub will also show the ads during live football matches across the UK.

Pre-roll trailers will appear on several web TV service and Mid-Page-Units on gameing sites such as IGN, GameSpot, Eurogamer, GameTrailers, GamesRadar, VideoGamer and CVG. Machinma's YouTube channel will also contain pre-roll ads, with video ads also present on Facebook and Google.

If you take the London Underground to commute to work, you may also bump into some Dead Island banners.

Good ole merch will also be part of the games promotional campaign, with T shirts already available, and Bantam Books publishing it's Dead Island novel the day before the games official launch on September 9th.

Koch Media's head of marketing & PR Amy Namihas said:

This is the biggest global marketing spend in the history of Deep Silver.

Let's hope it pays off.
