No plans by EA to charge for Battlelog
Michael Pachter isn't unfamiliar with ruffling feathers, seems he may have done so for EA. The industry analyst, earlier this month, said EA would try and "emulate" Activision and start charging for Battlefield 3's Battlelog.
Pachter said in his note:
Ultimately, we expect Electronic Arts to emulate Activision and charge for Battlelog by including map packs with the service for a $50 fee.
I thought it was quite cut and clear of EA's non-intention to charge for Battlelog, however, EA itself has replied and disputed the claim when speaking to IndustryGamers.
We are providing Battlelog to Battlefield 3 players to deliver the best social, multiplayer FPS experience in the market. We have no plans to charge for this service with Battlefield 3. The Battlefield series has always been about playing with friends, and Battlelog takes that experience to the next level by serving as a unique social network.
Right, so can we put this one to bed now?
Battlefield 3 will be released this October 28th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Modern Warfare, which will contain Elite on launch, will be released on November 8th. The clash of the titans is almost at hand!
