PS Vita images show console hardware and home screen
Sony have released a new set of images of their forthcoming handheld console, the Playstation Vita. The design appears similar to previous Sony handhelds, but also features an extra slot on the left side as well as the PS Vita logo on the game card slot.
Sony recently revealed that the PS Vita will support the creation of ad-hoc local multiplayer gaming with PSPs, although a full list of vita-PSP compatible titles has yet to be released. Sony also explained that the console will not be region locked, allowing for players to import region specific titles and will have an estimated battery life of 3 to 5 hours. Sony however have also confirmed a separate external battery to power the Vita for longer sessions.
The Playstation Vita is expected to hit Japanese stores on December 17, although there is currently no international release date.
