FIFA Street plans to bring a totally new experience to football fans
Incase you weren't aware, street football (or street soccer for our mis-informed american friends) is actually a completely different game. Well, not 'completely different', you still have goals and such, but the style of play is different and the amount of players on the pitch at one time etc.
Also, you won't find your million pound football stars doing street football either, turns out it's a lot of hard work and, well, footballers can barely kick a ball around as it is.
So then, how different is this?
In a recent interview with FIFA Street's line producer, Sid Misra, we asked about how much football FIFA Street is without it being "football".
XG247( Sam Clay):It looks like you’ve got a lot in there, street football, indoor football, is this as much football as you can have without it being football?
Sid Misra: The game we wanted to make was a departure from the club football game that everyone’s been playing. FIFA’s made a great game, year on year, they’ve nailed it again this year with FIFA 12 what we know, though is that there’s people who want more football , they want a new football experience, they wanna play a different game, so we’re bringing a new game for those fans. We’re also bringing a game for fans who might eventually want to get in to FIFA but might be intimidated to get in now with being a few years late and their friends are killing them 6-0 in matches, so this is a chance to level the playing field for everyone.
On the surface it would seem that there's very few options for football fans, PES or FIFA. It seems that FIFA Street is going to rip that old way of thinking up and ram a hip and happenin' freestyle option, yo.
