Rumour: Ubisoft suggest Xbox 720 launch in 2012
Ubisoft Montreal studio are already working 'target boxes' with devkits set to arrive later this year, according to a report by Edge.
Edge has heard from an unidentified source that the studio is working on "target boxes" - boxes that are built to represent the specs of the new Xbox.
The target boxes were provided by Microsoft, and Edge have been told that other developers such as EA have their paws on the new boxes too - with AMD providing the GPU innards.
These boxes are expected to hit Montreal sometime before Christmas, pointing to a late 2012.
Other rumours suggest Sony is also preping development of games for the next PlayStation console, with a major Sony-owned studio halting PlayStation 3 development and moving to the successor.
Ubisoft have refused to comment.
