Love Film lower fees as Netflix hits the UK’s Xbox 360 dashboard
LoveFilm have dropped the cost of their fees the same day competitor Netflix finally arrives on Xbox LIVE.
A post that went up on Xbox UK's Facebook group this afternoon simply reads:
"Netflix has arrived on Xbox LIVE! From today, enjoy even more fantastic films and TV programmes on demand on your Xbox. Try out the service right now with a month's free trial! More info on the dash, or here - www.facebook.com/netflixuk"
While it's good news that Xbox users can now get their paws on Netflix, the real story is that LoveFilm have lowered their subscription fees to combat this new competitor. An interview with Netflix's CEO, Reed Hastings, on the BBC's website reveals that for £5.99 a month you can "watch as many movies and TV shows as [you] want" - not only that but he also claims that "[Netflix] have more content than LoveFilm".
LoveFilm have responded to Netflix launching on UK Xbox's by dropped their price down to £4.99 a month for unlimited streaming. It's going to be very interesting to see how this price war continues.
