EA, one of the biggest and most successful video game publishers, have released their Q1 Financial Results today. They show the PC generated more revenue than the Ps3 although both were trumped by the Xbox 360.

After releasing their financial reports it's clear to see that the PC is more popular among gamers than the PS3 is.  Generating £276 million, the PC saw a huge influx of players wanting to sign up to Battlefield 3's Premium service, while the PS3 took the bronze of the first quarter of the year making £267 million.  The Xbox 360 generated the most revenue of the first quarter coming up with £292 million for the company.

CEO of EA, John Riccitiello, has said that the PC is the fastest growing gaming platform in the industry today, and the figures released certainly show this.  He also stated that the figures shown aren't from normal boxed sales of games but from Micro-Transactions and downloads.

Subscription services at EA are up too with EA Origin hitting the 2.1 million mark and Battlefield 3 Premium has broken over 1.3 million subscribers.

The PS3 and console gaming are not in for the easiest time from EA as they plan to push forward to making their content 100 percent digital.  PC gaming and Console gaming have always been striving to be on top but with these latest figures it looks like PC is climbing the ladder towards being the definitive winner.
