Microsoft Announces UK Kinect Pricing
Microsoft have (finally) announced the UK retail price for their Kinect motion sensor.
Now we could take this opportunity to tell you all about Kinect and the long story of it's development and pricing rumours but you don't really want to know any of that! You only want to know one thing, how much do Microsoft expect you to pay for it...?
And the answer is... £129.99.
That's right, more than some were expecting, less than some were expecting but at least it's finally confirmed. Since it was first announced in June last year as "Project Natal", people have been curious as to how much it would cost when it's released in November. Some said it would be under £80, others claimed it would be £150 so it looks like we've ended up somewhere in the middle.
So, stumping up £129.99 of your hard-earned cash will get you the Kinect motion sensor system as well as it's launch title, "Kinect Adventures". According to Microsoft, "Kinect Adventures lets players experience 20 adventures, navigating raging rapids and ducking and dodging through mountain top obstacle courses and exotic locations", all with no controller required of course.
This confident price point surely means that Microsoft are confident in their new system, despite various reports of games suffering from lag as well as problems with both loose clothing and being seated while playing.
We at XG247 will wait to see it for ourselves so that we can get a true judgement on Kinect but as soon as we have more info we will, of course, bring it straight to you! In the meantime, let us know what you think: Is it too expensive? Too cheap? Will you be getting one? Please comment below!
