New Version Of 360 “Slim” Announced
Microsoft have hit us all with a double-whammy of announcements! First of all they finally revealed the UK price for Kinect, (check it out here), and now they've also told us that a new Xbox is on the way too!
Now for those of you who have just gotten overly excited thinking "Wow, it must be the fabled Xbox 720! I think I'm going to cry with anticipation", calm down! Alas, it is not a "new" Xbox as such but a second version of the Xbox 360 "Slim".This new version will have all the same features as the current "Slim" such as integrated wireless connectivity but will contain a much smaller hard drive and will therefore be cheaper!
The 4GB Xbox 360 Slim will retail at £149.99 on it's own or, (and this is the main idea behind it), you can buy it in a special bundle with Kinect & Kinect Adventures for £249.99, therefore saving yourself a touch under £30 by buying them together. The new version will be released on 20th August with Kinect then arriving in November.
While XG247 certainly understands the need for a "budget" version of the "Slim", at £149.99 for this 4GB version, would it not be better to simply save up that extra £50 and buy the 250GB console? Particularly people who like to save their games to the hard drive? Or would you prefer the low-cost 4GB model? Tell us what you think below!
