Preview: Fable III at Gamescom
One of the reasons I came to Gamescom was to see a great RPG. I’ve been waiting a while for one and today I got my hands on Fable III for the first time and I’ve got to admit, it’s good. Very good. I had concerns that it may just be Fable 2.5 but am happy to say that that is not the case at all. The weaponry for instance was all unique and looked great, and will be upgradeable in different ways to help you create your perfect hero with his perfect weaponry. These upgrades come in the form of spells and attribute bonuses that unleash hell on your enemies. Weapons also change shape during the course of the game depending on how you use them. This is a great touch and adds a new element to how you use the various tools in your arsenal to achieve different looks. The interaction with NPC’s (whilst still similar to the old style) has been tweaked and now requires more effort on the players half to get people to really like and love you. There are a host of new gestures to use and some great animations which accompany them. All in all this is looking devilishly good, stay tuned to the site over the next few days for more updates!
