WWE All-Stars Preview

WWE All-stars is THQ’s take on an easy to pick-up-and-play wrestling game. With this game targeted at long-term fans of the WWE as well as the hardcore current watchers who want to get their next hands on a new style wresting game from the guys over at THQ. We only got a very small slice of the face pounding action from all-stars, but we were left wanting more, much much more. Some decent screen shots below though!

Unhealthy Superstars

To start off, this game isn’t developed by Jukes, it’s being housed by some of the developing stars who once formed a team over at Midway. This is there first attempt at a WWE game so you can expect something new straight off the bat. The biggest thing to notice is the art style as well as the over the top nature of the game. It looks crazy and It plays like that too. If your looking for a game which looks like the wrestlers have been pumped on a massive amount of steroids then you are looking at the right game. These wrestlers look unhealthy!

We only got a small demo of the game, just simply John Cena vs The Rock, this was to display what is supposed to be a ‘Normal Superstar’ VS an ‘All-Star’. The control setup is simple, you’ve got the 4 face buttons controlling your light and strong punches and grapples, the triggers controlling: running, getting out of the ring and pins and the rest of the buttons used for special moves and button prompts you will receive throughout the match. They have looked at how to make the game accessible to those who wouldn’t usually be interested in a wrestling game but maybe those who have played fighting games in the past. They want you to be able to play the game with just 4-6 buttons, simples.
